Taiwo Ajani
My Story
Taiwo Ajani is an accomplished educator, researcher, and consultant with more than two decades of experience in higher education and the industry specializing in Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Cybersecurity, Business Intelligence and the life sciences. His work focuses on integrating modern technology into curriculum development, ensuring students gain real-world skills in data-driven decision-making. He has played a pivotal role in bringing industry to education as exemplified by his curriculum designs and teaching - at the undergraduate and graduate levels, while covering topics such as Predictive Analytics, Data Mining, Cybersecurity, Public Health Informatics, and Machine Learning.

As a curriculum developer, Taiwo has led the creation of new academic programs in Business Analytics and Cybersecurity, emphasizing hands-on experiential learning through labs, simulations, and case studies. His commitment to student engagement extends to research mentorship, where he has guided students who have gone on to excel in roles across Database Management, Cybersecurity, and Data Analytics. In his role as Program Coordinator for Computer Information Systems (2016-2019), he managed curriculum revisions, faculty coordination, budgeting, and strategic program development, working closely with institutional leadership to enhance program effectiveness.

Beyond teaching, Taiwo has actively contributed to institutional service through various committee roles, including the Faculty Athletic Committee, Learning Management Systems, Professional Development, Institutional Review Board, and Freshman Learning Community. His work in these areas has facilitated collaboration between faculty and students, enhanced learning environments, and improved academic policies.
In addition to his academic career, Dr. Ajani has extensive industry experience as a Data Research Analyst at GTLytic Analysts (2017-2020), where he worked on high-impact healthcare projects involving data mining, predictive modeling, and statistical analysis. His projects included Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting Systems, Predictive Modeling for Hospital Readmission, and the Optimization of Unstructured Healthcare Data. Utilizing tools such as SQL, SAS, R, Python, and RapidMiner, he contributed to the development of analytics infrastructures, conducted advanced data-driven decision-making, with intent to help organizations in streamlining processes to achieve significant cost savings.

As a recognized expert in data analytics, cybersecurity, and business intelligence, Taiwo is proficient in using industry-standard tools and platforms, including SQL, SAS, SPSS, R, Python, Tableau, and RapidMiner. His expertise extends to cybersecurity and networking, where he has developed curricula for Cybersecurity and Forensics programs, ensuring compliance with security protocols and institutional IT requirements. He is also highly skilled in utilizing Learning Management Systems such as Canvas, Moodle, Blackboard, and Desire2Learn, delivering courses in both traditional and online formats.
